Retired Navy pilot & commander shares perspective on deadly Learjet crash in South Florida — Fleming Island Community news

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating a deadly plane crash in Palm Beach County.A Learjet carrying nine people made a rapid dive of about 350 feet per second and crashed on its way to the Bahamas. There were no survivors. The plane went from 35,250 feet to 8,750 feet in a little over a minute, or roughly 350 feet per second, before it slammed into the ground. Apparently, the pilot couldn’t bring it out of its nosedive. But what would cause an aircraft to spiral out of control like that? Richard Kolko, a retired U.S. Navy Commander, Navy pilot and FBI Special Agent, joined News4JAX us on The Morning Show to discuss the cataclysmic event.
